History of Kappa Rho Lambda Chapter

In the small city of Evansville, IN, the community was in desperate need of leadership. And after several attempts to forge a chapter in the Tri-State, the Distinguished Kappa Rho Lambda Chapter was established October 1, 1974.

Since then, the 539th house of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. has made its mark on the local community. The chapter continues to grow in membership, and several brothers helped establish Phi Epsilon Chapter seated at the University of Southern Indiana in 2017.

Kappa Rho Lambda is one of five alumni chapters in the district of Indiana, a list that includes Gamma Rho Lambda (Gary, IN), Iota Lambda (Indianapolis, IN), Theta Upsilon Lambda (Fort Wayne, IN) and Theta Xi Lambda (South Bend, IN).
